Visiting Nolan/Dad/Grandpa
Even with a crowd at the camp, Dad may be overlooked and left alone if everyone goes off to entertain themselves. He especially enjoys having people to talk with. You don't even have to be good at conversation. Just get him started. Ask a question occasionally and he can carry both ends of the conversation ... and where he will take it can be unpredictable.
In addition to conversation, ask Dad if he would would like to go with you:
- to town
- to the movies in Tupper Lake
- to the Wild Center in Tupper (arrange a wheelchair)
- to the Adirondack Museum (arrange a wheelchair)
- for a boat ride
- swimming (at the beach)
- to drive out to Floodwood
- to visit Mrs. Dougherty, the Marshalls, or Uncle Jack
- to drive up the Whiteface Highway, or ride the chairlift, or take the elevator up the ski jump
- to pick blueberries (take a lightweight folding lawn chair)
