After circling around Eagle island, past Gull Point, around the edge of Gull Bay and past Doctor's Island, I followed the shoreline north and east of Birch Island to the outlet bay at Bartlett Carry.

There, in a quiet corner of the bay, was a flock of waterlilies.

The boulder on the right is only about three feet high, but from water level in a small canoe, waterlilies are very close and boulders can seem huge.
