At Fish Rock Camp, in the early 1900's, the interior wall lamps were originally gas burning lamps. In the building that was later a pump house for the water system, acetylene gas (C2H2) was created by the reaction of calcium carbide (CaC2) with water, and piped to each of the buildings.

Alan is using the reciprocating saw to cut and remove some of the old gas pipes.

The adjacent foundation wall of large stone rubble and crumbling mortar would be removed and replaced.
