The difficulty of removing the original joists intact prompted a suggestion to abandon our plan to re-use the old framing lumber.
The rotten condition of the corner framing led to a discussion of the benefit of using pressure treated lumber for rebuilding the framing.
We decided we wanted to avoid rebuilding the porch again in our lifetime, so the Sawzall went into action again.
