At last, in the spring of 2004, the Woodford Brothers crew arrived to begin the work: excavating, removing and replacing part of the foundation, installing drainage under and along the back of the house, leveling and installing new footings and supports under the living room and stabilizing the large fireplace and the stone column at the corner of the porch.
