2010 Sekon Calendar (archive)

Update, February 22:

OK, everybody, the new calendar is ready to go (4 months earlier than last year!!!), and the form for sending your Sekon visiting plans is working.

The calendar is wide open as of now, so send your dates, even if your plans are tentative. It may help others make plans. Early to mid September is often a fine time to be at camp.

If you will be there on July 4th or Steak Roast weekend, be sure to sign up early. Having a crowd should be OK as long as EVERYONE takes responsibility for shopping, cooking, cleaning, and (especially) making sure Dad is not overwhelmed or overlooked.

Notes:

  • The second meeting of the membership of Sekon 596 L.L.C. (none of us were at the first meeting last December) is scheduled for the weekend of April 24 and 25 at the company headquarters, 6251 Furnace Rd, Ontario. All members should plan to be available for several hours on Saturday and again on Sunday, as there is likely to be a LOT of discussion.
  • (*) I am looking into getting mahogany T&G flooring for the rest of the porch. If I can get it, I propose that we consider starting Phase Two of the porch project during the week of July 4th. Other times I may be able to participate in continued porch rebuilding:
    • During the week of July 19,
    • Long weekend, July 30 - Aug 3,
    • Long weekend Aug 12 - 16.
If I can't get the mahogany, we'll have to postpone porch project and my time is more negotiable.
  • During a long weekend July 15 - 18, Scott says: "I would like to use the camp [with] Maria, friends, and/or my kids and a few of their friends. Although there may be a group of us, I would be glad to have any of our other family members there at the same time." Note: Scott sent a change in his plans for July, so there is an open chunk of time in the middle of the month.
  • Scott indicated he wants to spend time at camp from Aug 19 - 29. He prefers to be there the 8/19 - 8/22 weekend, with 8/26 - 8/29 as an alternative. He would stay there throughout the week and both weekends if room is available, and is negotiable if others also want to be there during that time.

"Whatever days during that 10 days in August that I can use Sekon, I'll have Jennifer and Steve (Architectura) and a few others that would be glad to help out with a project, such as some porch construction." _ Scott

  • I've indicated dates in September when I may be there with the Breakfast Club (I hope). Family are also welcome.

Printing the calendar

The layout of this web page does not translate well to a printed version. I will work on making printer-friendly versions of the calendar available soon.

Schedule your visits

Figure out which dates you can be at Sekon and send them to Sue to be added to the calendar using this handy web form or by email.

Info to include:

  • Total number and names of the people who will be visiting
  • Dates of visit and, if possible, intended arrival & departure times (as in "arriving early evening of 7/9 and leaving by noon on 7/12)

How to read the calendar

I guess we're probably all used to this by now.

  • Those who are scheduled to be at Sekon will be listed on each date.
  • Arrivals and departures for each date will be indicated in blue.
  • Dates when one (or more) of us is scheduled to be at Sekon will be dark gray. All family members are welcome: The more the merrier.
  • Dates that are tentative or negotiable will be light gray: when one of us is planning to be there, but may be adjusted.
  • NEW: dates when one of us has arranged use of the camp that is functionally exclusive of others will be indicated in yellow. As agreed at our April meeting, there can be two or three weekends each summer made available for "exclusive use" on a rotating basis.

Send your visiting preferences as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the less negotiable the schedule will be.

FYI: 2007, 2008 and 2009 calendars are still available, in case they may be of use.
